End of Mission and Arrival Home
We left Egypt on March 24, 2026. We will miss all of our wonderful friends. One of these, David Adel, came to the airport with us, as we were not certain if we would be able to check in the luggage we created for two of Wael's paintings we were bringing with us. We left at 2 am so it was very kind of him.
We had 5 checked bags, two carry-on bags, and two backpacks. The black bag on top of the other luggage we made to contain two of Wael's paintings. We had a 2-sided wooden box made and then filled it with bubble wrap, cardboard, and 2 rolls of tape.
This winter in Utah (and the Western US) has been one of the warmest on record. Our fruit trees look beautiful in bloom, but it is far too early. These pictures are in the back of our yard in Bluffdale.
This is looking toward our sports court. The temperatures has been up to 84 degrees and very little rain in the past few months.
Even the peach trees are in bloom.

We have a number of things that need repairing. The back stairs had rotted and I needed to tear it out and replace it. Also, both of our vehicles had dead batteries and I had to arise early the second day to remove our car's battery and replace it. Kathleen had an eye doctor's appointment and I a dentist appointment. Kathleen will need cataract surgery for both her eyes and I need a molar cap replaced.
Kristi and Theo were at our home to greet us. Trevor had picked us up at the airport. Kristi was very tearful and excited to see her mother. She is also 8 months pregnant and will be so happy to have her mother here for her mother's birth.
This is the stairs after I tore most of it out.
We went to Katie and Ryan's home to see Eric and his family. Kathleen is holding Eric's new baby, Loraine. Kristina is also very excited to have her grandmother home.
These are the steps after I finished them. We also have many other projects to catch up at home.
