Trips to Fayoum and village near Minya

We were able to travel to a village near Minya, which is a city about a 4 hour drive from Cairo. At the end of the trip we had lunch in a restaurant overlooking the Nile. The NGO, Joseph the Carpenter, has been taking conveys into smaller villages and found that much of the disease was being caused by the very polluted drinking water. They had created their first unit, shown below, and we came to look at it, as we have approved another 5 units in different villages.
The villagers come to fill up their drinking water cans and bottles. Some carry them on their heads and they send out 3-wheel vehicles to sell bottles for 5 EGPs (about 11 cents). The water project keeps 3 and gives 2 for the delivery. The Coptic priest was very friendly.
We are in front of the filters they are using to purify the water.
In the Coptic church they had a number of saint relics that can be prayed to and receive miracles from. They have 3 skulls, hands and feet of people who were supposedly martyred about 400 AD. This is a lady and her hand.
We are in one of the chapels with the priest and the NGO sponsors.
Two days earlier we went with President Marcous and Kareem, both who work for Family Search, to Fayoum, a city about 2 1/2 hours from Cairo. We were able to see the only waterfall in Egypt there.

Fayoum is famous for their pottery. A Swiss lady about 40 years ago came with her father, who was a minister and spent the rest of her life training the people her how to make pottery. This is the school she established.
The villagers would like to have medical services in the 3rd floor of their mosque. They expressed an interest in a kidney dialysis unit, but I believe they need to start with a primary care unit before any specialized equipment.
We are here with President Marcous and the people from the village. This is the area they want to make into their clinic.

President Marcous was conducting oral histories. We sat through them having 5 during the day. Of course, all were in Arabic.
Our church member, Wael, opened his restaurant in a school. I finally again got his church self-reliance grant approved. Now to try to help him make it more successful.
Wael, Steve, and Madut at Wael's restaurant. Madut is being called as the new branch president on September 12, 2025 and I will be his 1st counselor.
