Aug 1-14 YM/YW Activity and prosthetics again

Here are two pictures of the Metro we ride periodically. It is almost all above ground except this spot.

We were asked to prepare stories about some of the humanitarian projects we are doing and went back to Hand-in-Hand and their prosthetic work. We have now funded them twice. The man on the left never went to school and his leg was amputated by a water wheel in a rural village when he was 17. He has had this leg for 5 months and is very happy to have it. He insisted on biting his garment to show his leg.
This man is from Sudan and lost his leg as a result of diabetes. He was an architect in Sudan but lost everything due to the war there. His son is helping him with his leg.
This is the CEO of Hand-in-Hand, Mohamed Hatab, and his 3D printers that are used to print the prosthetics. His wife just had their first child this month.
We started to have joint Young Men and Young Women activities. This one was designed and run by the Walstons. The kids did have fun and ate lots of pizza.
We played a lot of games in the back yard of our Gathering Center. The youth have very little opportunity to do things. They all come from very poor families and live in tiny apartments.
Kathleen and I go 4-6 days a week in the mornings to workout. The gym is okay, not great. Here I am looking very excited (dead?) working out on these machines. They are just outside of the main building and the temperatures have been over 100 everyday. In the morning we are lucky to have lows just under 80, but sometimes over 80.
